The Story Behind Richard La Ruina
Richard La Ruina is a London-based Author, entrepreneur, and dating coach. He is the founder of PUA Training: A company made famous for it's bootcamp style program for training men in the fine art of seduction, offered in the Uk, Brazil, and the United States. He has enjoy a great deal of media attention recently, including: television shows, national radio, internet publications and documentaries. This attention however, is far from his beginnings when he was anything but, a suave ladies man.
Born in London in July of 1980 to a family of Spanish decent who raised him in Cambridge. He describes his childhood as being problematic both academically and socially. He was bullied in school and was compelled to change schools because of this, though the problem continued through most of his early years.
At the early age of 18, he had developed a talent for stock market and successfully invested his life savings, which provided him with a healthy return. It was at this time that he earned the nickname of: Gambler.
By 21 La Ruina had yet to kiss a woman for the first time. It was then that he realized his success had only been in monetary areas, there was no good experiences with the opposite sex. Fearing the dim future of a life spent alone he began to frequent London's bars and nightclubs, hoping to meet women. At these clubs he became aware of the techniques of the pick-up artist. He had several role models who were able to teach him about the positive effect of attitude when meeting women, but they were lacking in an ability to teach a complete structure.
In 2007 Richard established his own company, PUA Training. His trainers were comprised of the very best of the pick-up artists he had met, and the company flourished almost right away.
In December of that same year, many of his trainers were used in filming the documentary, First Cut: the Rules of Seduction, which aired in the UK and was viewed by over two and a half million people. He has been featured on such shows as: Super Dragueurs, The Fine Art of Seduction, as well as others. He is even set to feature in the up coming film, We Need to Talk about Kieran. All of this attention in addition to the sales of his book, The Natural Art of Seduction: Secrets of Success with Women.
The training program offered by Richard's company, PUA Trainers, emphasizes the importance of originality and a natural approach to attract women. Avoiding scripted routines is the hallmark of his training. He argues that men must become the best versions of themselves in order to maintain a long term attraction.
